Jonathan Aborah, a teacher and cultural enthusiast from the Kasena Nankana Municipality, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the two government ministers who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The crash, which occurred in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, claimed the lives of Ghana’s Minister for Defence and the Minister for Science and Environment. The incident has sent shockwaves across the nation and left many mourning.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Thursday August 7, Aborah described the two late ministers as “walking sticks” for President John Dramani Mahama, emphasizing their close relationship with the president and the vital roles they played in his administration.

“I know by now our father the president will be mourning; he will be broken because he has lost walking sticks,” he said.

Aborah recounted the shock and grief that swept across the country following news of the accident, adding that the tragedy has deeply unsettled many Ghanaians.

“Eighty percent of Ghanaians have not had a nice sleep last night,” he said. “I was glued to my television to monitor all that was happening.”

He concluded his tribute with a solemn prayer, asking for divine comfort and eternal rest for the departed souls.

“We are praying that the good Lord will look kindly upon their souls and send them to eternity,” he said.

The nation continues to mourn as tributes pour in from across political, religious, and cultural spheres, with many describing the incident as a major national loss.
