The 2024/2025 Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the C.K Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) has commissioned two newly constructed summer huts for the benefit of the student body.
The commissioning ceremony took place on the sideline of a formal event to mark the transition of leadership from the outgoing SRC executives to the newly elected team.
The outgoing SRC President, Kofi Barnabas Weja, described the initiative as a significant milestone for student welfare, achieved despite numerous challenges faced during the tenure.
“I want to thank Almighty God for His wisdom and guidance thus far. Even though we faced a lot of challenges, at the end of the day, the summer hut project was completed,” Weja stated during his address.
He also extended his appreciation to the University Management, the University’s Works Department, and all the stakeholders who played a role in making the project a reality.
“They contributed greatly to this project, especially the engineers, who even came at night to check whether we were doing the right thing,” he noted.

The newly commissioned summer huts are designed to serve as comfortable, open-air spaces for students to relax, engage in group discussions, and socialize in a conducive environment on campus.
The newly sworn SRC leadership has pledged to continue building on such efforts to ensure further improvements to student welfare and campus infrastructure.
