The Church of Pentecost, Bolga Area, has officially launched its Ministry to Prison Associates (MPA) in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
The launch, held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, seeks to provide spiritual support, mentorship, and reintegration pathways for inmates and ex-convicts, reflecting the Church’s commitment to holistic ministry and social transformation.
The Bolga Area Head of the Church, Apostle David Amankwa, led the ceremony together with other church leaders. The event was also attended by officials from the Ghana Prisons Service and the Ghana Police Service.
Speaking on behalf of the Upper East Regional Commander, Acting Second-in-Command Chief Superintendent Ayamga A. Gloria commended the Church’s continuous support to the Navrongo Central Prison. She noted the construction of a church pavilion used for padre hour and other significant activities as one of the contributions of the Church.
She further observed that the Church’s initiative aligns with the Ghana Prisons Service’s new transformational agenda, “THINK PRISON 360,” which places emphasis on the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners.
An ex-convict, Elisha Kintanpo Awuni, who recently benefited from presidential amnesty, shared a testimony of transformation at the launch. He expressed gratitude to the Church for its role in his spiritual growth and to the officers of the Navrongo Central Prison for their contributions to his rehabilitation.
The Church of Pentecost has been a long-standing partner of the Ghana Prisons Service. Its interventions over the years include the construction of the Nsawam Camp Prison, the Ejura Camp Prison, and, most recently, the Damongo Camp Prison in the Savannah Region.
