State security agencies in Upper East Region hold unity route march

The exercise was also intended to boost public confidence in the security agencies and send a clear message of preparedness and solidarity in safeguarding lives and property.

State security agencies in the Upper East Region have undertaken a unity route march through the streets of Bolgatanga to reassure residents of their collective commitment to maintaining peace and security.

The march, led by the Ghana Armed Forces, commenced from the Bolgatanga Jubilee Park, where personnel from various security and allied agencies assembled before proceeding through major streets of the regional capital.

The personnel turned out in their numbers.

Participating agencies included the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, and the Ghana National Fire Service. Other personnel were drawn from the Ghana Ambulance Service, the Forestry Services Division, the Narcotics Control Authority, and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Following briefings, the personnel set off on the route march, moving through principal streets of Bolgatanga. Throughout the exercise, participants sang morale-boosting songs and demonstrated their readiness to defend and maintain peace and security in the region.

The personnel were urged to continue working in unity and coordination.

The unity march comes at a time when parts of the Upper East Region have experienced intermittent violent disturbances, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property. These incidents have heightened the need for strong inter-agency collaboration to effectively address security challenges.

At the end of the march, personnel were urged to continue working in unity and coordination to ensure sustained public peace, safety, and order across the region.

The exercise boosted public confidence in the security agencies.

“We appreciate the turnout. The way the civilians were looking at us shows that we are prepared and ready to face any battle that comes our way,” said DO2 Nibunu Calistus, the Bolgatanga Municipal Fire commander.

The exercise was also intended to boost public confidence in the security agencies and send a clear message of preparedness and solidarity in safeguarding lives and property.
