NPP’s Peter Ayinbisa praises President Mahama for nominating Diana Ayamga as DCE for Bongo
Diana Ayamga’s nomination follows the sudden death of the former DCE, Joseph Abaa Akaseke, who passed away on February 22, 2026, after a short illness.
Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo and Upper East Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for nominating Diana Asoketarige Ayamga as District Chief Executive for the Bongo District.
The nomination, announced on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 was made in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended. Her appointment is subject to the approval of members of the District Assembly.
Diana Ayamga’s nomination follows the sudden death of the former DCE, Joseph Abaa Akaseke, who passed away on February 22, 2026, after a short illness.

Reacting to the announcement, Ayamga described the nomination as a fitting consolation to the bereaved family and the people of Bongo.
“Her appointment is viewed by many as the best tribute by the President to the people of Bongo.” He said in a public post.
He further noted that the nomination of Diana Ayamga, who currently works at the Records Department of the Upper East Regional Office of the Ghana Education Service, reflects the President’s commitment to easing the grief of the community.
Ayamga also commended key stakeholders for their roles in securing the nomination, including the Member of Parliament for Bongo, Lawyer Bawah Dua, the Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugre, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman and all others who contributed to the process.
