West Cluster DCE calls for responsible use of newly supplied ISD van and computers to boost public information delivery in Upper East Region
The District Chief Executive for the Kassena-Nankana West District, Stephen Aeke Akurugo, has called on beneficiary districts under the West Cluster to make effective use of newly acquired information service equipment.
The cluster received an-ultra mordern Information Service Van and Computers from governmet to support the service of the Information Service Departments in the four districts.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly on Monday, April 13, 2026 Akurugo expressed appreciation to government for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention to enhance public education and information delivery.
“For lack of knowledge our people perish, and that knowledge must come through education. If the President, in his wisdom, has brought something like this, then it is only proper for us to use it for the purpose for which it has been provided.” He stated.

Akurugo further urged the Information Services Department to ensure proper handling and maintenance of the equipment, particularly the multi-purpose information van.
“This is a special-purpose vehicle, and we must take good care of it so that it lasts and serves its intended purpose,” he added.
The equipment comprising a multi-purpose information van for the West Cluster and four desktop computers each for the Kassena-Nankana Municipal, Kassena-Nankana West District, Builsa South Municipal, and Builsa North District forms part of a broader nationwide government initiative to modernise the Information Services Department and strengthen public communication across the country.
