NDC Constituency Secretary raises concern over poor state of Chuchuliga–Sandema–Fumbisi–Wiesi road
Builsa North NDC Constituency Secretary Emmanuel Ayamboliba says the prolonged delay in completing the Chuchuliga–Sandema–Fumbisi–Wiesi road threatens public confidence and development.
The Builsa North Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Ayamboliba, has expressed concern over the deplorable state of the Chuchuliga–Sandema–Fumbisi–Wiesi road, describing the situation as unacceptable despite his party being in government.
Ayamboliba said although he serves as the constituency secretary of the ruling party, he has a responsibility to speak out on matters affecting the people.
“As a Builsa North Constituency Secretary, my party is in power, but the current state of the Chuchuliga-Sandema-Fumbisi-Wiesi road is not the best, and we must speak up,” he stated.
According to him, the road project was awarded on contract in 2016, yet little progress has been made over the years.
He recalled that during the 2024 election campaign, the NDC used the road extensively and assured residents that the road would be fixed if the party was voted into office.
Speaking on Mike FM TENGOMISIYERIKA DALONG on Sunday June 28, Ayamboliba noted that nearly two years after the NDC assumed office, the condition of the road has remained poor and, in some sections, has deteriorated further.
He warned that the continued delay in completing the project could negatively affect the party’s electoral fortunes in the constituency.
He lamented that he would not know what explanation to give residents when another election approaches if the road remains in its current condition.
The constituency secretary therefore appealed to traditional leaders in the area to intervene by engaging the President and other relevant authorities to help ensure that the contractor returns to site and work resumes.
He stressed that completing the road is critical to improving transportation, promoting economic activities, and restoring public confidence in the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises.
