Community member donates food items to Anaankum Primary School pupils to mark end of academic year
Elijah Atamale Apolinya Yaw donates food and drinks to Anaankum Primary School pupils, encouraging them to stay committed to their education and return motivated for the new academic year.
A native of Kobdema, Elijah Atamale Apolinya Yaw, has donated assorted food items and drinks to pupils of Anaankum Primary School in the Builsa North Municipality to celebrate the successful completion of the 2025/2026 academic year and the start of the long vacation.
The donation, which included biscuits, soft drinks and bottled beverages, was intended to put smiles on the faces of the pupils while encouraging them to remain committed to their education.
Presenting the items, Atamale said the gesture formed part of his personal efforts to support education in his community by motivating children to attend school regularly and stay focused on their studies.
He noted that he also hoped the initiative would inspire children who had dropped out of school to return when the new academic year begins.
“As the academic year comes to an end, I thought it wise, as a member of this community, to make the children happy and encourage them to continue learning,” he said.
Atamale stressed that promoting the welfare of schoolchildren is a shared responsibility and explained that the donation was equally meant to encourage teachers for their dedication and commitment to nurturing the next generation.
He urged the pupils to take their education seriously, remain disciplined throughout the vacation, and encourage their friends who had stopped attending school to return when classes resume.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Headmistress of Anaankum Primary School, Rita Adeenze, expressed profound appreciation to Atamale for his generosity and commitment to the welfare of the pupils.
She described the donation as timely, saying it would boost the morale of both pupils and teachers while inspiring the children to remain enthusiastic about their education.
The pupils, who were visibly excited, thanked Atamale for remembering them at the close of the academic year. Many described the gesture as a memorable way to begin their vacation and pledged to return to school ready to continue their studies when the new academic year resumes.
