Bawumia must apologise to Ghanaians for economic hardships – Maadi

Maadi wants Mahamudu Bawumia to issue a public apology to Ghanaians for his role in the economic difficulties experienced under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Carl Maadi, has called on former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to issue a public apology to Ghanaians for his role in the economic difficulties experienced under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Friday May 2, Maadi criticized Dr. Bawumia’s ongoing “Thank You” tour, labeling it as inadequate and misdirected.

He contended that the former Vice President’s gestures toward party loyalists fail to acknowledge the broader national impact of his policies during his tenure.

“Has he come out to apologize to Ghanaians in totality for presiding over an economy that was in a bad state?” Maadi questioned. “Did he apologize for taking part in decisions that kept Ghanaians in hardship.”

Maadi further accused the NPP leadership of exhibiting arrogance while in office, claiming such attitudes contributed significantly to the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections. He noted that the party’s post-defeat conduct suggests a lack of introspection and a missed opportunity for renewal.

He also took issue with the delayed timing of the NPP’s nationwide “Thank You” tour, arguing that the prolonged silence after the elections has fostered internal divisions within the party. According to him, the delay could have been avoided with better leadership and communication.
