Chasco pledges financial transparency in Navrongo NPP if elected treasurer
Achaari outlined his vision for a disciplined financial structure within the constituency. He emphasized that strict oversight and responsible handling of party funds are critical to regaining political strength in upcoming elections.
Clifford Wenawome Achaari, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) Treasurer aspirant for the Navrongo Central Constituency, has pledged to prioritise financial transparency and accountability in the management of party funds if elected.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on May 22, Achaari outlined his vision for a disciplined financial structure within the constituency. He emphasised that strict oversight and responsible handling of party funds are critical to regaining political strength in upcoming elections.
“If given the opportunity, I will strongly advocate that all financial resources coming into the constituency be deposited into the constituency’s official bank account,” Achaari said.
“Only after the proposed activity has been reviewed and approved should funds be disbursed for that purpose.” he added.
He expressed concern over the current practice of routing donations and funds directly to individuals, stating that this undermines transparency. Achaari pledged to put an end to such practices and enforce a system where financial transactions are traceable and properly documented.
As part of his agenda, Achaari also committed to expanding the decision-making process regarding financial expenditures. Unlike the prevailing model where only the party chairman, secretary, and treasurer are involved, he promised to involve the entire constituency executive committee in all financial decisions.
Achaari further noted his intention to introduce comprehensive financial guidelines to govern the party’s fiscal operations.
“By establishing clear guidelines and procedures for financial management, the party can work towards a more transparent and accountable system,” he added.
