Family of accident victim appeals for financial support to undergo treatment
He is currently receiving specialist care at the hospital's Surgical Ward and remains on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after undergoing emergency neurosurgery.
The family of 20-year-old Listowel Anepone Kwodam from Navrongo, Upper East Region, is making a heartfelt appeal to the public for financial support after a devastating motor accident left the young man in critical condition.
The accident occurred on March 14, 2025, along the Pungu road in Navrongo.
The crash left Listowel Anepone Kwodam with a head injury, multiple fractures, and a cervical spine injury, all requiring intensive medical intervention and long-term care.
Listowel Anepone Kwodam was initially taken to the Navrongo War Memorial Hospital but was later referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
He is currently receiving specialist care at the hospital’s Surgical Ward and remains on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after undergoing emergency neurosurgery.
Financial Burden
The cost of treatment has placed a heavy financial burden on the family, who are struggling to meet the hospital expenses. Following this, the family has now turned to the public for support, hoping to raise funds to cover the cost of his treatment.
Call to Action
The family is, therefore, appealing for support – big or small – from individual and organizations to enable them to take care of the cost of his treatment, including medication, surgery, and rehabilitation.
According to a statement from the hospital made available to Mike 105.3 FM by family, the expenses include:
Accrued medical bills: GH¢11,855.00
Daily medication: GH¢1,200.00
ICU care daily: GH¢550.00
