Isaac Adongo and Alamzy excluded from appointments for not being the best – NPP Communicator

Appearing on the Friday February 7, 2025, edition of the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Navrongo based Mike FM, Aniakwo said the two MPs are not the best, reason the president excluded them in his first selection.

A member of the New Patriotic Party communication team in the Chiana-Paga constituency, Hilary Aniakwo, has teased Isaac Adongo and Nikyema Billa Alamzy, Members of Parliament for Bolgatanga central and Chiana-Paga constituencies, respectively, for not making the cut in President Mahama’s government as ministers.

Aniakwo said the two, then parliamentary candidates in the 2024 election, wooed the electorate with a campaign message that they would be automatically made ministers to bring development to their respective constituencies.

Appearing on the Friday February 7, 2025, edition of the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Navrongo based Mike FM, Aniakwo said the two MPs have been excluded from the president’s selection because they are not the best as they claim to be.

He said, “If you are forming a team or going for a match, you look for the best eleven so that they will start the match. So clearly it means that they were not the best eleven, that is why they are not given the opportunity to be part of the list of nominees.”

Aniakwo said though an inclusion of the two in the current government would have been good news as such appointments would help maximise the needed development in their respective constituencies, the president selected people he believed are capable in helping him to deliver on his mandate.

Since coming to power on January 7, 2025, President Mahama who during his campaign promised a slim government of only 60 ministers, has made about 55 appointments including Deputy Ministers. Today, the president swore into his government 17 ministerial nominees approved by Parliament. The newly sworn ministers included Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who will oversee the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

An optimistic Aniakwo said although the president is almost done forming his government, he should consider the two MPs in his remaining appointments.
