Kassena Nankana MCE pledges support for traders at Navrongo new market

During a working visit to the market on Friday, August 29, the MCE acknowledged concerns raised by the traders, including the lack of adequate sheds and spaces for business operations.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Kassena Nankana Municipal Assembly, Faustina Akeyom Abulu, has assured traders at the Navrongo New Market of the Assembly’s commitment to addressing challenges confronting their businesses.

During a working visit to the market on Friday, August 29, the MCE acknowledged concerns raised by the traders, including the lack of adequate sheds and spaces for business operations. She pledged that the Assembly would take steps to resolve the issues to create a more conducive environment for trade.

“I appreciate the challenges you shared, and I can assure you of the Assembly’s commitment to addressing these concerns to improve your business operations in this market.” Abulu said.

While pledging support, the MCE also appealed to the traders to play their part by maintaining a clean environment and honouring their tax obligations. She emphasised that timely tax payments would enable the Assembly to generate revenue for infrastructure development and other essential services that would benefit both the market and the municipality.

“As we work to address these challenges, I also appeal to you to keep your business areas clean at all times and pay your taxes timely to help the Assembly execute projects that benefit the market and the entire municipality,” she added.

The MCE, who was accompanied by some Heads of Department and Assembly Members, toured the market and engaged directly with traders to gain a first-hand understanding of their concerns.
