Hundreds of revellers gathered at Grace Land Hotel on Sunday, July 20, to celebrate an unforgettable night of music and dance as part of the aftermath party for the 2025 PANAFEST and Emancipation Day celebrations.

The event featured electrifying performances from popular Upper East artists including Michael Adangba, Anthony Zunga, Fasetwo and Kweku Melody, alongside guest performers from neighbouring Burkina Faso. Their dynamic stage acts kept the crowd on their feet, creating an atmosphere of joy, reflection, and unity.

The Master of Ceremony for the night, Priscilla Ajedichira Bagina, shared her excitement with Mike FM, describing the festival and its closing party as deeply meaningful.

“It has been one of the great festivals. I wish that we keep doing it without stopping. That was the third edition and it turned out great.”

She commended the traditional leaders for their strong presence, which she said added cultural depth and moral education to the event.

“I love the way the chiefs came out in their numbers to grace the occasion. It is teaching us the moral lessons of what our slaves went through. So to me, it should be a program that is done every year.”

Priscilla further called on stakeholders to continue supporting the festival to project the region’s cultural heritage to Ghana and the world.

“Our advice is that they should keep pushing hard in order to raise Upper East together. Because it’s not only done in Upper East, but if you look at it across all Ghana, Upper East really stood out and it is spoken about more than others.”

A participant Womogarah Be-me shared his impressions, describing the party as a positive initiative to promote culture and local talent but noted the need for improved publicity in future editions.

“Yeah, I think it’s nice that things like this are being organised. If they can continue doing it every year, it will help promote our culture and our artists. But I feel they didn’t advertise this program well, that’s why the attendance was very low.”

The PANAFEST and Emancipation Day celebrations at Pikworo Slave Camp and the Grace Land Hotel aftermath party were organised by the Ghana Tourism Authority, Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM) in collaboration with regional stakeholders to honour the resilience of African ancestors and foster unity among people of African descent.
