Navrongo NDC confident Ken Ofori-Atta Will Be brought to book
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Thursday February 13, 2025, Abuga reposed confidence in the current administration to facilitate his repatriation to account for his stewardship as finance minister in the previous government.

Benjamin Biadana Abuga, a member of the communications team of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Navrongo Central Constituency, has said government will use every means permitted by law to ensure former finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is prosecuted for his alleged corruption crimes.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Thursday February 13, 2025, Abuga reposed confidence in the current administration to facilitate his repatriation to account for his stewardship as finance minister in the previous government.
“They will definitely find him; he will be smoked out. There is nowhere in this world that he would run to that he wouldn’t be smoked out. He will definitely answer,” Abuga noted.
He continued that, “I am confident that the current government of the day is committed to giving justice to the Ghanaian people, so there is no person more than Ken Ofori Atta who is the cause of our economic woe,”
The comments by Abuga come after the Office of the Special Prosecutor declared the former Finance Minister wanted after failing to avail him for interrogation in an ongoing investigation.
Abuga said even though there would be hurdles, he has trust in President John Mahama to ensure accountability from former government officials.
“With the approach of his Excellency John Dramani Mahama, I am confident that he is definitely going to serve on every word that he promised the Ghanaian citizen.”

The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a suspect in five high-profile corruption investigations including, Contractual arrangements between Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for revenue assurance in the petroleum and minerals sectors; Procurement of contractors and materials, as well as activities and payments; Termination of a distribution, loss reduction, and associated network improvement project contract between the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG) and Beijing Xiao Cheng Technology (BXC).
Others are payments made from and the utilization of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s tax refund account and activities and payment regarding the contract awarded by the Ministry of Health to Service Ghana Auto Group Limited for the purchase, after-sales service, and maintenance of 307 Mercedes-Benz ambulances for the National Ambulance.
