NPP to undertake nationwide post-election ‘Thank You Tour’
The tour, which will be led by the Party’s 2024 Presidential Candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia, will be held in all 16 regions.
The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to hold a nationwide post-election “Thank You Tour”, set to commence on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Accra.
The tour, which will be led by the Party’s 2024 Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be held in all 16 regions.
A press statement dated April 21, 2025, signed by Henry Nana Boakye, the Party’s National Organiser, says the tour is intended to convey the party’s appreciation to the rank and file of the party and the general public for their support during the December 2024 election process.
According to Henry Nana Boakye, the tour, which was approved by the party’s national council, is themed, “In all things we give thanks to God”, rooted in biblical scriptures.
The statement called on party faithful to actively participate in the tour, adding that the tour will culminate in a national interfaith thanksgiving service for both Christian and Islamic religions.
The NPP lost the 2024 general elections to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) by a margin of over one million votes in the presidential election, with the NDC also wining majority of the parliamentary seats-183 against the NPP’s 88 and four seats for independent candidates with one seat yet to be officially declared by the electoral commission.
