NPP’s Kwalase slams NDC over ‘loud silence’ on 24-hour economy
Kwalase's remarks follow a review of the President's first 120 days social contract with the people.

Thomas Kwalase, Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Chiana-Paga Constituency, has taken a swipe at the Mahama government for its ‘loud silence’ on the 24-hour economy policy.
Kwalase’s remarks follow a review of the President’s first 120 days social contract with the people.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday April 28, Kwalase launched a blistering attack at the NDC for shelving their major campaign promise to the people.
He said the NDC has since gone silent on their flagship 24-Hour Economy program, suggesting a lack of commitment to the promises made to the Ghanaian populace during the campaign.
“During the campaign, all you hear is 24-hour economy, but today they a running away from it, no one is talking about it,” Kwalase said.
He further stated that the Mahama-led NDC government is involved in a ‘governance of deception’, appearing to be fulfilling their promise but rather burdening the ordinary Ghanaian.
He questioned the President’s appointment of only two women in his cabinet, arguing that appointing an entire cabinet in 14 days is not an achievement if the affirmative action law requirement of 30 percent women’s representation is not met.
President Mahama has made 26 key promises to be achieved during his first 120 days in office, which will be tomorrow, April 29, 2025.
