President Mahama names MMDCE nominees for Upper East Region
The Upper East MMDCE's nominee list comprises two women and 13 men.

President John Dramani Mahama has released the second batch of nominees for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s).
The list includes all nominated chief executives for five regions, including the 15 district assemblies in the Upper East Region.
This is according to a statement from the Presidency, signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, and dated April 4, 2025.
The Upper East MMDCE’s nominee list comprises two women and 13 men.
The President has appointed Roland Atanga Ayoo, Isaac Azunaba, and Faustina Akeyom Abulu as Municipal Chief Executives for Bolgatanga Municipality, Bawku Municipality, and Kassena-Nankana Municipality, respectively.
Other nominees include:
– Bolgatanga East District: Jacob Abugri Aka-Eric
– Bongo District: Akaseke Joseph Abaa
– Talensi District: John Millim Naabwomya
– Nabdam District: Francis Tobig Yenwoma
– Kassena-Nankana West District: Stephen Aeke Akurigo
– Bulsa North District: Akogti Solomon Ansoahayie
– Bulsa South District: Anne Musah
– Bawku West District: James Ayamwego
– Binduri District: Ariku Martin Akudugu
– Pusiga District: Aguri Haruna Abdul Rahim
– Garu District: Abaare Akugba John
– Tempane District: Mbilla Joseph Ayaaba
The President’s nomination is in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936) and amended Act 2017. The nominations is subject to approval from their respective district assemblies.
