Special Prosecutor has been lenient with Ken Ofori Atta – Abuga
According to Abuga, the former Finance Minister played a role in causing the economic crises and hardship Ghanaians faced under the government of former President Nana Addo and should therefore avail himself to the ongoing investigations by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

A Communicator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Benjamin Biadana Abuga has lauded the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng for declaring the former Finance, Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, wanted.
According to Abuga, the former Finance Minister played a role in causing the economic crises and hardship Ghanaians faced under the government of former President Nana Addo and should therefore avail himself to the ongoing investigations by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Thursday February 13, 2025, Abuga trumpeted the magnitude of the cases for which the former government official is being for questioning, adding that preventive measures ought to have been enacted to stop Ken Ofori-Atta from leaving the country.
“I even feel that they are so lenient with him [Ken Ofori-Atta]. This is one of the people whose movement immediately after 7th December should have been monitored. He shouldn’t have allowed him an inch to travel out of this country.” Abuga fumed.
He urged the government and by extension, the Office of the Special Prosecutor, to expand the investigations to cover other former appointees of the previous government. He strongly believed such a move would help uncover a lot more rots committed under the former NPP government.
Touching on the Special Prosecutor, Benjamin Abuga applauded him for addressing the media, stating that his action was a mark of accountability and good stewardship.
“We’ve gone past that era of silence. Accountability means you need to let the people know what is going on, you need to account for your stewardship every now and then. People must be updated, people must be informed” He stated.
