St John Bosco College of Education Launches Sanitation Day

The St. John Bosco College of Education in Navrongo has launched its Sanitation Day, with a call on all students and staff to maintain a clean environment.
The event, held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, was themed “Keeping St. John Bosco College of Education Clean, Your Responsibility in Environmental Cleanliness.”
The launch began with a clean-up exercise carried out by students and staff, followed by a talk on sanitation at the school’s auditorium.

The Acting Principal Dr. Nyaaba Rudolph emphasized the importance of sanitation in maintaining a healthy and conducive learning environment.
“Education is not only about academic excellence but also about character development and community responsibility,” Dr. Rudolph said. “A clean school fosters discipline, promotes good health, and enhances productivity among students and staff.”
The initiative aims to create awareness about the importance of sanitation, reduce waste accumulation, promote proper waste management practices, and instill a sense of responsibility and discipline in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
Dr. Rudolph stressed that ensuring a clean environment is a collective responsibility that demands the active participation of all. He called on all participants to be sanitation-conscious and commit to always keeping their environment clean.

The Guest speaker, Benjamin Anyana, Chief Executive Officer of B.C Bencyn LTD, advocated for more efficient ways of using waste products for the benefit of humanity. He urged the school authorities and students to make environmental cleanliness a priority, emphasizing that it is the only way the objectives of the Sanitation Day can be fully achieved.
The launch of the Sanitation Day is expected to have a positive impact on the college community, promoting a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
