Upper East GJA to face Happy Man Bitters Team in pre-awards friendly match

The match is one of the activities lined up ahead of this year’s GJA Awards, which will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, under the theme: “Upholding Public Trust: The Role of the Media in Promoting Accountable Governance in the Upper East Region.”

The Upper East Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) will lock horns with Happy Man Bitters in a friendly football match on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Kurt Okraku Technical Center in Winkongo.

The match is one of the activities lined up ahead of this year’s GJA Awards, which will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, under the theme: Upholding Public Trust: The Role of the Media in Promoting Accountable Governance in the Upper East Region.”

The GJA team will feature some of the region’s well-known journalists, including Albert Sore, Anthony Apubeo, Nicholas Azebire, Moses Apobona, Francis Xavier, Philip Ayaaba Abdul Aziz, Ayeebono Bright, Nelson Abagna, and Emmanuel Kolgo.

Their opponents, Happy Man Bitters, will field a strong side led by the CEO of Charger Limited, Emmanuel Bortey Borketey, alongside Edward Anafo, Kabu Banks, Azanlerigu Cherry (Mboma), and Atanga Alex.

Happy Man Bitters has earned a strong reputation in the Upper East Region for supporting sports development. The brand has sponsored major tournaments such as the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta in Bolgatanga and HAMISOC in Navrongo, and is also a proud sponsor of Navrongo Liberty FC.
