We thank the President for abolishing betting tax, e-levy, others – Johnathan Abdallah
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday March, 19, 2025 he noted that the abolishment of these taxes will help ease the financial burdens on the ordinary Ghanaian.
The Upper East Regional Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnathan Abdallah Salifu, has heaped praises on President John Mahama for fulfilling key campaign promises in less than three months of his presidency.
Abdallah particularly thanked the President for the abolishing the sports betting, electronic levy and COVID-19 levy taxes.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday March, 19, 2025, Abdallah noted that the abolishment of these taxes will help ease the financial burdens on the ordinary Ghanaian.
“E-levy, the downtrodden which hitherto used to send GHC 100 to their parents at home or children at school, President Akufo Addo and Bawumia will sand by their phone and take their 10 percent, President Mahama says don’t pay anything, that is good news,”
“Betting tax, the youth who will stake their lottery on the phone immediately they win, President Akufo Addo and Bawumia are there to take their share, President Mahama says I don’t have all the jobs for you now, when you win your money put it into your pocket, we say thank you to the president.” he stated.
Abdallah further emphasized the positive impact of some okey interventions by the Mahama government, including the free tertiary education for the physically challenged, the free tertiary education for all level 100 students, and the free sanitary pads for school girls, among others. He described them as key social intervention projects which the masses in the Upper East Region will benefit from.
“So far, so good; if you look at the policies that have been implemented, they are social interventions that aim at reducing the burden on the Ghanaian man and woman; they help to reduce pressure on parents and take away the suffering of the masses,”
“The same President allocated a good amount of money to the education ministry, more especially for free SHS; the same President is providing free sanitary pads to girls from basic school to senior high school level; we say thank you.” He added
