We’ll not tolerate arrogant MMDCEs, they’ll be sacked – Jonathan Abdallah

Abdallah said the government would not tolerate acts of incompetence and arrogance.

Jonathan Salifu Abdallah, the Upper East Regional Communications Officer for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), has sent early caution to yet-to-be confirmed Municipal and Districts Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region to refrain from acts of arrogance in the discharge of the duty.

Abdallah said the government would not tolerate acts of incompetence and arrogance.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show with David Adapuna on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Abdallah said any municipal and district chief executive who acts contrary would be shown the exit door.

He stressed that government is focused on working with all stakeholders to bring the needed development to the region and would not hesitate to swiftly remove any appointee whose behaviour is questionable.

“I can assure them [Nominees] that the president will not hesitate to fire, we as regional executives will not hesitate to inform the president to remove you, if you are proven to be very arrogant towards the grassroots, towards the traditional leaders, towards the ordinary person, towards the heads of department, towards the political class, towards your MP. That one, I will assure you that you are not going to stay long in office.” He remarked.

Abdallah stressed the need for all municipal and district chief executives to prioritize the development of their respective areas by collaborating with non-governmental organizations.

He also urged them to see the need to lobby for projects, especially at the national level.

“MMDCEs should stretch their hands to Accra; I mean the country’s capital, to lobby for additional projects. ” Abdallah said.
