The NDC fraternity in Navrongo has, over the past week, experienced internal wrangling among party faithful after President Mahama’s nominee for the MCE position in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality, Faustina Akeyom Abulu, was rejected.
Ayiture, speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, May 7, admonished her comrades in Navrongo to place the interest of the NDC ahead of any individual or group interest.
She stressed the need for party unity in delivering on the promises of the NDC government.
“I want to plead with them (NDC members) that the party’s interests should be prioritised over individual interests and that members should be willing to put aside their differences for the greater good.” Ayiture said.
Ayiture further appealed for a consensus as a party to confirm any person nominated by the President subsequently.
“I call for unity and reconciliation within the NDC in Navrongo Central, they should put aside their differences and work towards the development of the area.” She added.
