Haruna Iddrisu donates computers to Navrongo SHS to boost ICT education

The donation fulfills a pledge he made at the school’s Speech and Prize-Giving Day last year.

The Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has supported his alma mater, Navrongo Senior High School in the Upper East Region, with ten desktop computers to boost the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The donation fulfills a pledge he made at the school’s Speech and Prize-Giving Day last year.

During the event, Mercy Babachuweh, the school’s headmistress, raised concerns about the lack of computers, which was negatively impacting ICT education. She noted that although the school was committed to providing quality ICT education, the shortage of computers and other ICT tools remained a major challenge.

She, therefore, appealed to the government, corporate organizations, and alumni to support the school in addressing these deficiencies.

As a special guest at the event, Haruna Iddrisu responded by donating GHC 100,000 to the school and pledged to further provide computers to enhance ICT education for students.

At a brief ceremony to present the computers, Evans Abaluk, who represented Haruna Iddrisu, reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the school. He urged management to ensure that the computers were properly maintained and used effectively to benefit students for years to come.
