NPP urges Navrongo MCE to proof critics wrong with results-driven leadership

Jacob Asomadagwine, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team in the Navrongo Central Constituency, has called on the newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Faustina Akeyeom Abulu, to rise above criticism and lead with a focus on impactful, results-oriented governance.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on June 17, Asomadagwine welcomed Abulu’s confirmation by the Municipal Assembly and expressed hope that her tenure would mark a turning point in the municipality’s development.

“I’m praying for Madame, our MCE, to prove many, many, many wrong. Being MCE is not easy. Sometimes if you don’t take time, you may not meet expectations,”

“This time, she is going to deal with the entire municipality, not just the NPP. We have been in this game, and Madame will realize it is not easy.” He added.

Asomadagwine mentioned road rehabilitation as one of the most pressing needs in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality and urged the new MCE to take immediate action. He referenced the District Assembly Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), which has distributed road maintenance equipment to assemblies nationwide

“The NPP has done a lot and I think that she’s supposed to continue from our district.      That is why the last part of our administration we procured those drip machines. They were there waiting for MC to be nominated.

“So, I think that when she comes it is a low hanging fruit for her just to use those machines and ensure that every part of our municipality roads are cut so that easy passage especially at this rainy season clinics mother indicated and I think.” He stated.

Faustina Akeyeom Abulu was officially confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive on Monday, June 17, 2025, after securing a majority of votes from Assembly Members. Her confirmation follows weeks of deliberation and anticipation among stakeholders and constituents.
