Kassena-Nankana Municipal Police assures public of tightened security during festive season

DSP Adombire said the overall security situation in the municipality remains generally calm.

The Kassena-Nankana Municipal Police Commander, DSP Lawrence Adombire, has assured residents of enhanced security measures to protect lives and property throughout the festive season.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Tuesday, December 23, DSP Adombire said the overall security situation in the municipality remains generally calm.

“As I speak, I can say for certain that, aside from some petty offences such as domestic violence, street fights and minor break-ins, the armed robbery we are all concerned about is minimal.” He noted.

He explained that the current calm represents a significant improvement compared to previous periods, attributing the progress to deliberate measures implemented by the Police Service, including the revamping of patrol teams.

According to him, the Command has also identified crime-prone areas within the municipality and is deploying targeted strategies to prevent criminal activities.

“We have revamped our patrol teams and they are fully up to the task. We have also identified hotspots where robberies are likely to occur, and we have introduced snap checks involving random stop-and-search operations. When crimes are reported, we deal with them swiftly, which demonstrates our seriousness in tackling crime.” DSP Adombire stated.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant, take personal security seriously, and adopt basic safety practices, adding that residents should not hesitate to seek police assistance when necessary.

DSP Adombire further cautioned road users, particularly motorcyclists, against reckless riding, which he said often leads to accidents during the festive period.

“Motorcycles are a legitimate means of transport, but they have increasingly become killers because many riders do not adhere to traffic regulations. Sometimes, while driving, you see motorcyclists overtaking from both the left and the right, and that is extremely dangerous.” He warned.

He appealed to all residents to cooperate with the police and act responsibly to ensure a safe and peaceful festive season in the municipality.
