President Mahama’s new year address reflects strong leadership – Stephen Avoyem

Avoyem praised President Mahama for what he said was a remarkable turnaround of the country’s economic fortunes since assuming office.

The Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Chiana–Paga Constituency, Stephen Avoyem, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as a bold and reassuring New Year address to Ghanaians.

According to Avoyem, the President’s message demonstrated the hallmarks of decisive and purposeful leadership at a critical time in the nation’s development.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday, January 5, Avoyem praised President Mahama for what he said was a remarkable turnaround of the country’s economic fortunes since assuming office.

“We came to meet inflation at about 23 per cent, and today we are recording single-digit inflation. This did not happen by chance; it is the result of deliberate policy choices backed by committed leadership,” he stated.

Avoyem noted that the impact of the President’s leadership is being felt in the daily lives of ordinary Ghanaians, particularly through the reduction in the cost of living.

“When you go to the market today and compare prices then, and now, the difference is clear. A gallon of cooking oil that sold for about GH₵1,000 during the NPP administration is now below GH₵500 here in Navrongo. These are practical indicators that the country is moving in the right direction,” he added.

He further called on Ghanaians to rally behind President Mahama, urging them to support his vision and policies to ensure sustained national transformation that benefits all citizens.
