Chuchuliga Chief sets up sanitation committee to promote clean environment
The initiative aims to ensure that the community remains neat and clean to protect residents from diseases.
The Chief of Chuchuliga in the Builsa North Municipality, Nab Francis Asangalisah has inaugurated a 23-member sanitation committee to champion cleanliness in the Chuchuliga Traditional Area.
Following its official inauguration on Friday March 13, 2026, the committee, with support from residents, embarked on its first major clean-up exercise on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The exercise covered the Chuchuliga township, the market, the chief’s palace, and the community health center.
Speaking to the media after the exercise, the organizing secretary of the committee, Thomas Asagchaab, said the initiative aims to ensure that the community remains neat and clean to protect residents from diseases.
He appealed to all residents to support the initiative to help maintain sanitation in the area.
Asagchaab also called on the Builsa North Municipal Assembly to assist the committee with logistics, particularly dustbins, to help sustain the exercise.
The committee is expected to organize clean-up exercises every three days, which coincides with the market day in Chuchuliga.
