Upper East NEIP Director urges youth to take advantage of the programme for business growth

NEIP urges youth to tap into training and funding opportunities to build sustainable businesses

The Upper East Regional Director of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Monica Bakiva, has called on young people to take full advantage of opportunities under the programme to build sustainable businesses.

According to her, the initiative offers both financial support and entrepreneurial training designed to equip beneficiaries with the skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive business environment.

Bakiva highlighted the Adumawura initiative as a key component of NEIP, noting that it provides skills training and grants to support young entrepreneurs in establishing and expanding their ventures.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Thursday, April 30, she acknowledged that access to funding remains a major challenge for many young people, stressing the need for beneficiaries to take the intervention seriously.

“We are hopeful that after the training, beneficiaries will apply the skills acquired to build themselves and grow their businesses.” She said.

She further encouraged the youth to embrace entrepreneurship as a viable pathway to economic independence and improved livelihoods.

“Today, many people prefer government jobs, but when we shift our mindset towards self-employment, it will create more opportunities for growth.” She added.

Bakiva’s remarks come amid ongoing efforts by NEIP to empower young people across the country to drive innovation and contribute meaningfully to local economic development.
