The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following the circulation of a video on social media alleging sexual misconduct involving the teacher and a student.
In a statement issued on June 16, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES said it had become aware of the disturbing video and had immediately commenced investigations into the matter.
According to the statement, the interdiction of the teacher is in line with GES rules and regulations and is intended to allow for a thorough and impartial investigation into the allegations.
“Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement noted.
The Education Service strongly condemned all forms of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct within educational institutions.
GES further urged all members of staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct in the discharge of their duties.
The Service emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the welfare, protection, and well-being of students across the country, stressing that any individual found culpable after investigations would face the necessary disciplinary and legal sanctions.
Management also assured the public that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness and that additional updates may be provided as investigations progress.
The development has sparked public concern and renewed discussions about professional conduct and student protection within Ghana’s educational system.
Authorities are expected to provide further details once investigations are concluded.
