The Chiefs and people of Paga-Bayono, together with members of the Paga Youth Movement (PAYOM), have praised the Navro-Pio, Pe Denis Belinia Aniakwa Adda Asagpare II, for his instrumental role in advocating for the government’s absorption of the St. Matthew Technical Vocational Institute in the Kassena-Nankana West District.
The institution, built by Catholic cleric and native of Bayono, Rev. Fr. Albert Wugaa, with support from the Follman family, is expected to begin admitting students in the next academic year.
At a mini durbar held at the Bayono Chief’s Palace, the community expressed appreciation to the Navro-Pio for his efforts in ensuring that the school was absorbed by the government after four years of completion.
Representatives of the Chief of Bayono noted that the efforts of the Navro-Pio have strengthened community coexistence and underscored the importance of traditional authorities in community development.

Frederick Wuuga, a former Assembly Member for the area and a member of the Bayono Royal House, also expressed gratitude to both the Navro-Pio and Rev. Fr. Wugaa.
“For four years, we have been waiting for this day. We consistently advocated for government support to operationalise this school after Fr. Wugaa ensured its construction,” he said.
“The Navro-Pio added his voice to our advocacy and followed through to ensure the school was absorbed.”
Executives of the Paga Youth Movement, a key pressure group that has consistently lobbied for the school’s absorption, paid glowing tribute to the Navro-Pio and all stakeholders who contributed to the achievement.
The Navro-Pio, after touring the facility, commended the community, Rev. Fr. Wuuga, and his donors for their commitment and investment in education.
He described the school environment as conducive and safe for training future leaders with practical, hands-on skills.
The St. Matthew Technical Vocational Institute is set to admit its first batch of students in September 2026, offering three Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes: Electrical Installation, Welding and Fabrication, and Hospitality Management (Home Economics).
