Office of Registrar of Companies takes Business Registration and Sensitization Clinic to Navrongo

Registrar brings doorstep services to boost business registration and compliance in Navrongo

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) is currently in Navrongo, in the Kassena-Nankana Municipal of the Upper East Region, as part of its Business Registration and Sensitization Clinic initiative, which brings services directly to communities to promote business registration.

The initiative forms part of the organization’s public education and sensitization drive aimed at making its services more accessible and promoting compliance with the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992). The clinic began in Navrongo on April 27 and will end on April 30.

Speaking on the Bike Mike Breakfast Show on Tuesday, April 28, Josephine Tsekpo, Head of Corporate Affairs at the ORC, said the initiative is intended to bring key services of the Registrar of Companies closer to residents of Navrongo and surrounding communities.

“Considering the distance from Navrongo to Accra or any of our zonal offices, we have offices in Tamale, Kumasi, and Sunyani, the Registrar thought it wise to come directly to the people of Navrongo to register their businesses.” She explained.

She emphasized that registering a business entity is a legal requirement and warned that individuals operating unregistered businesses are breaking the law.

“If your business is not registered, it is illegal. You are operating an illegal business. So come and register, and let’s avoid the involvement of ‘goro boys’ or middlemen.” She urged.

The team is providing services including on-the-spot business registration, renewal of existing businesses, and business advisory services at the forecourt of the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly in Navrongo.
