CHNTC Navrongo opens admissions for prospective nursing students
College authorities encourage qualified applicants to take advantage of ongoing admissions into certificate, diploma, and degree programmes in community and public health nursing.
The Community Health Nursing Training College (CHNTC) in Navrongo has announced the commencement of admissions for prospective students seeking to pursue careers in nursing and public health.
The announcement was made by the Principal of the College, Elizabeth Dujin, during an interview on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, May 27.
Dujin explained that the institution is dedicated to training Public and Community Health Nurses to address the healthcare needs of communities, with a strong emphasis on preventive healthcare and health promotion.
According to her, the college currently offers three main programmes: a Certificate in Community Health Nursing, a Diploma in Public Health Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Public Health Nursing.
“Currently, we run three programmes: a two-year Certificate programme, a three-year Diploma programme, and a four-year BSc programme for fresh applicants. We also offer a two-year top-up BSc programme for practicing health professionals who hold Diplomas and have substantial years of working experience,” she stated.
Dujin further noted that certificate holders already working in the health sector can take advantage of the college’s access programme, which enables them to pursue a three-year top-up BSc degree.
Also speaking on the programme, a tutor at the college, David Adugbire, highlighted the institution’s commitment to providing both theoretical and practical training to equip students with the requisite knowledge and skills for professional practice.

“Our training approach combines classroom instruction with field attachments. This enables students to acquire the practical experience, knowledge, and competencies required to serve effectively as Public Health or Preventive Health Nurses,” he explained.
Adugbire added that the college intentionally incorporates courses that shape students into competent professionals capable of delivering quality healthcare services.
The college authorities encouraged qualified applicants to take advantage of the ongoing admission process and enroll to receive the training necessary for successful careers in the healthcare profession.
