NPP battle-ready for 2028 after peaceful constituency elections – Donald Abowinum
NPP communicator says the peaceful constituency elections have strengthened party unity and boosted confidence ahead of the 2028 general elections.
A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team for the Navrongo Central Constituency, Donald Abowinum, says the successful conduct of the party’s constituency executive elections has strengthened the party’s unity and positioned it to reclaim the Navrongo Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, July 15, Abowinam described the elections as peaceful, transparent and well-organised, saying they reflected the party’s commitment to internal democracy.
He noted that the elections were successfully conducted in many constituencies across the country, adding that the exercise in Navrongo Central and the Upper East Region was peaceful and free of major disturbances.
Abowinum disclosed that the constituency recorded a high turnout, with more than 1,000 delegates participating in the exercise, which he said demonstrated the commitment of party members to rebuilding the party.
“The conduct of the elections shows that the party is united and ready for the 2028 general election. Our opponents should get ready because all of us are together in unity. We are battle ready for 2028.” Abowinum said.
He attributed the impressive turnout to the loyalty of delegates and their determination to elect leaders capable of preparing the party for the next general elections.
The NPP communicator also commended the security agencies and the election committee for ensuring a peaceful process, while transportation arrangements enabled delegates from distant communities to participate in the voting.
“In terms of security, everything was top-notch. There wasn’t any disturbance or confrontation. Everything went on smoothly.” He declared
According to him, the calibre of executives elected has boosted confidence within the party and demonstrated that the grassroots are ready to work towards victory.
He rejected suggestions that internal disagreements would affect the NPP’s fortunes, insisting that members are committed resolving their differences with a focus on returning to power.
“We are united together and we are ready to fight. We have nine out of ten chances of winning the Navrongo Central seat in 2028.” Abowinum voiced out.
