Mahama’s 74% Economic rating survey sponsored by NDC – Paga NPP

Bugase described the survey as lacking credibility and claimed it could have been conducted at the NDC headquarters.

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team in the Chiana-Paga Constituency, Francis Bugase, has strongly rejected the findings of a recent Global InfoAnalytics survey which gave President John Dramani Mahama a 74% approval rating in the management of the economy.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Monday, July 7, Bugase described the survey as lacking credibility and claimed it could have been conducted at the NDC headquarters.

He argued that the current economic realities faced by ordinary Ghanaians do not reflect the positive image portrayed by the survey. According to Bugase, recent hikes in utility tariffs, high fuel prices, job losses, and inadequate food supply in public basic schools are indicators of poor economic management under the Mahama-led administration.

“When you put it before me and the nurses, the Ghanaians who are about to pay 1 Ghana cedi per litre of fuel, the children sitting at various primary schools without food, the NDC members who worked tirelessly in opposition and still haven’t been given appointments, and the Ghanaians sleeping in darkness or who’ve lost their jobs, the president will not get anything more than 15%,” he stated.

Bugase went on to rate President Mahama’s performance at just 15% and credited the recent appreciation of the cedi against the US dollar to economic foundations laid by the previous NPP government under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“In the beginning of the year, when the efforts of the NPP reflected in the economy, we were all applauding the NDC. Many didn’t know that it was the competence of Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia that was giving us those results,” he added.

The Global InfoAnalytics survey, released earlier this month, claimed overwhelming public confidence in President Mahama’s handling of the economy and job creation, sparking both praise and criticism across the political divide.
