We are confident of retaining Navrongo Central seat– NDC Communicator
NDC communicator says government performance and ongoing development projects will help the party retain the Navrongo Central parliamentary seat in 2028.
A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team for the Navrongo Central Constituency, Godfred Apolala, says the governing NDC remains confident of retaining the Navrongo Central parliamentary seat despite the NPP’s optimism following its constituency executive elections.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, July 15, Apolala congratulated the NPP for organising generally peaceful constituency elections, particularly in the Upper East Region, but maintained that the opposition still has internal challenges to overcome.
He argued that isolated incidents recorded during the elections in some parts of the country showed that divisions within the party had not been completely resolved.
“We’re not moved by what the NPP is saying. We trust in what we have done for the people of Navrongo and Ghana at large to speak for us.” Apolala said.
According to him, the NDC remains focused on implementing policies and development projects that improve the lives of residents instead of engaging in political rhetoric.
He cited ongoing road rehabilitation works and the commissioning of the DVLA office in Navrongo as examples of government’s commitment towards the development of the constituency.
“We are well focused. We believe in what we are doing, and we are delivering on that. We are not threatened by anything.” He said.
Apolala argued that electing new executives alone would not automatically resolve the NPP’s internal differences, urging the party to unite all its members before the next elections.
He also called on the opposition to contribute constructive ideas to national development instead of concentrating solely on criticism of government policies.
“Any party that wins power governs all of us. If you have ideas, share them so that together we can shape this country.” Apolala appealed.
