Police arrest two watchmen over alleged defilement of 14-year-old SHS student in Bolgatanga

The two suspects are in police custody assisting investigations into the alleged defilement of the 14-year-old student at Bolgatanga Girls’ SHS.

The Upper East Regional Police Command has arrested two security men over the alleged defilement of a 14-year-old student of Bolgatanga Girls’ Senior High School.

The suspects have been identified as 38-year-old Elvis Adongo and 72-year-old Adams Nyaaba Iddrisu.

According to the Police, preliminary investigations indicate that the victim went to the school’s security room to charge her tablet when the incident allegedly occurred.

The Police said Adams Nyaaba Iddrisu allegedly forced the student and had sexual intercourse with her in the security room.

Further investigations also established that the second suspect, Elvis Adongo, was allegedly involved in sexual activity with the student. The Police said the suspect admitted to having sexual relations with the victim when questioned by school authorities.

A police medical form has subsequently been prepared to obtain medical confirmation of the alleged incident.

The two suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations and are expected to be put before court soon.

The Upper East Regional Police Command disclosed this in a press release dated Thursday, August 20.
