NPP clears all 47 aspirants to contest 2026 National Officers Elections
All 47 NPP aspirants have been cleared to contest nine national officer positions, with balloting for ballot-paper positions scheduled for September 9.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cleared all 47 aspirants who went through the vetting process to contest its 2026 National Officers Elections.
The party’s National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) announced that the vetting process, conducted by the National Officers Election Vetting Committee (NOEVC) from August 31 to September 3, has been successfully completed.
According to the NOEC, all 47 aspirants who appeared before the Vetting Committee were found suitable and eligible to contest the respective positions for which they filed their nominations.
The cleared aspirants are contesting nine national officer positions, with the National Vice-Chairperson position attracting the highest number of candidates at 13, followed by National Organiser with eight and National Youth Organiser with six.
The National Nasara (Zongo) Organiser position has five candidates, while four aspirants each have been cleared to contest the positions of National Chairman, General Secretary and National Treasurer.
Two candidates have been cleared for the position of National Women’s Organiser, while only one aspirant has been cleared to contest for National Communications Director.
The NOEC said the Vetting Committee reached its decision after examining the documentation submitted by the aspirants, interacting with them and assessing their compliance with the applicable eligibility requirements.
With the vetting process completed, the party is set to proceed to the next stage of preparations for the elections.
The NOEC announced that balloting for positions on the ballot paper will take place on Wednesday, September 9, at the NPP Headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.
Specific times for the balloting of the respective positions will be communicated directly to the aspirants.
The party said aspirants are expected to participate in the balloting process either in person or through their duly authorised representatives.
