British High Commission deepens partnership with Ghana’s Ministry of Interior

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Minister of Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak as part of efforts to deepen bilateral ties between the two commonwealth nations.
The visit which took place at the Ministries office in Accra on Monday April, 14 2025, reinforced the strong bilateral ties between the United Kingdom and Ghana.
The visit according to the Ministry of Interior provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss matters of mutual interest particularly in the security sector.
Harriet Thompson commended Ghana’s exemplary role in maintaining peace and stability in the West African region, noting the country’s contributions to regional and global peacekeeping efforts.
In his remarks, the Minister expressed appreciation for the enduring partnership between Ghana and the UK, highlighting ongoing collaborations in areas such as law enforcement training, counter-terrorism, and border security management.
Muntaka reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening ties to foster shared prosperity and security.
The meeting also touched on the importance of continued dialogue to address emerging challenges, including cybersecurity and transnational crime.
