IGP Yohuno leads Police delegation to Bawku following violent incidents
His visit follows a series of violent attacks in the area, specifically a confrontation between the police and residents yesterday, April 9, which left one person, Fuseini Iddrisu, dead and five people, including a police and immigration officer, injured.

The Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, will today, April 10, 2025, embark on a situation assessment visit to Bawku in the Upper East Region with a delegation of operations, investigation, and intelligence officers.
His visit follows recent violent attacks in the area, specifically a confrontation between the police and residents yesterday, April 9, which left one person, Fuseini Iddrisu, dead and five people, including a police and immigration officer, injured.
In a release signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofri, the IGP, while at Bawku, will “commiserate with the deceased family, visit the injured persons on admission and reach out to officers who lost their properties as a result of the violence.”
The police assured the general public of its continued collaboration with sister security agencies and stakeholders in the Bawku conflict to ensure security, law and order is restored.
