Mike FM’s General Manager shortlisted for Upper East GJA Awards
With more than a decade of service in the media industry, Senyalah has carved a niche for himself as a leading Security Reporter in Northern Ghana, while also covering a broad range of national issues.

Award-winning journalist and General Manager of Navrongo-based Mike FM, Castro Senyalah, has been shortlisted for honours at the 4th Upper East Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards.
Senyalah, who also serves as the Regional Correspondent for Media General’s TV3, is one of 13 Journalists shortlisted for the awards on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Secretary of the Upper East branch of the GJA, Anthony Adongo Apubeo, announced the nominations in a statement dated Friday, October 3.
With more than a decade of service in the media industry, Senyalah has carved a niche for himself as a leading and trusted Security Reporter in Northern Ghana, while also covering a broad range of national issues.
In 2024, he was recognised nationally as the Best Crime and Court Journalist of the Year at the 28th GJA Awards.
At the regional level, he has won several awards including Best Reporter for Security, Environment, Agriculture and Gender and Disability. He has also received several recognitions from Non-Governmental Organizations.
This year’s ceremony is being held under the theme: “Upholding Public Trust: The Role of the Media in Promoting Accountable Governance in the Upper East Region.”
The event, which will take place at the Blue Sky Hotel in Bolgatanga, aims to celebrate Journalistic excellence and recognise the vital role of the media in the development of the Upper East Region.
