The Overlord of the Navrongo Traditional Area, Pe Asagpaare Aneakwoa Balinia Adda II, has cautioned students against the use of illicit drugs, warning that drug abuse poses a significant threat to their future prospects.
Speaking at the climax of the Student Representative Council (SRC) Week celebration of Awe Senior High School in Navrongo, Pe Asagpaare emphasized the importance of discipline and responsible behavior among the youth, particularly students in senior high schools.
“Drugs can destroy your dreams and derail your future,” he said. “As students, you must stay focused, avoid bad company, and commit to your education.”
The revered traditional leader also urged parents and guardians to be more vigilant and actively monitor the behavior of their adolescent children, especially those in senior high schools.
He underscored the crucial role families play in shaping the character and academic performance of students.

Pe Asagpaare commended the management and staff of Awe Senior High School for their dedication and academic achievements over the years, despite the various challenges confronting the school. He acknowledged their hard work and resilience in maintaining standards.
He further assured the school of his continuous support, particularly in efforts aimed at improving infrastructure and creating a conducive learning environment.
“I will continue to appeal for help for you. I have made appeals for a bus for you. But we have not yet received it, and I believe it is not yet our time. At God’s own time, we will get a bus for our school.”
