Navrongo Central NDC suspends media engagements over the death of party communicator
The late Achana whose sad demise occurred on February 28, 2026, was a key member of the NDC Communication Team, an appointed Assembly Member of the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly, and he also served as a Branch Executive of Pungu Central.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Navrongo Central has suspended all media and public communication activities for one week following the passing of Maurice Achana.
The late Achana, whose sad demise occurred on February 28, 2026, was a key member of the NDC Communication Team, an appointed Assembly Member of the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly, and he also served as a branch executive of Pungu Central.
A statement issued by the Constituency Communications Officer, Babere Alagewe Lemuel Kelly, described the late Achana as a beloved team member, comrade, and friend whose dedication to the party and society was unwavering.
“Comrade Maurice was more than just a colleague; he was a dedicated voice of conscience for the NDC and the society at large. His incredible passion, energy, and commitment to the course of the NDC were evident in everything he did.” The statement said.
The statement further emphasized that his passing is a profound loss to the Navrongo Central NDC family, noting that words cannot adequately express the void created by his departure.
“In light of this tragic event and to honour his memory, the leadership has directed that all Comrades observe a period of mourning. Effective immediately, all media engagements, communication activities, and public engagements are hereby suspended for a period of one week.” The statement added.
Meanwhile, the family of the late Maurice Achana has scheduled Tuesday March 3, 2025, for his burial. The late Maurice Achana is survived by a wife and one child.
