NPP is good at policy introduction but poor at implementation – Angelina Asurayaga

Asurayaga said the NPP has a track record of launching policies without adequately following through on their execution

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team for the Chiana-Paga Constituency, Angelina Asurayaga, has challenged claims that the NDC lacks policies aimed at addressing poverty, arguing instead that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) struggles with effective policy implementation.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, January 28, Asurayaga said the NPP has a track record of launching policies without adequately following through on their execution.

According to her, while the NPP may be credited with introducing major social interventions, their inability to properly implement them has undermined their intended benefits.

“The NPP drafts good policies, but when it comes to implementation, it is zero, they introduced the Free Senior High School policy, and we all saw how students suffered, especially with feeding.”

Asurayaga maintained that several flagship policies often touted by the NPP only became effective after the NDC improved and strengthened them.

“They brought the policies, but we made them better.” She added

She further argued that the current economic stability in the country is evidence of the NDC’s commitment to improving the living conditions of Ghanaians, adding that the party remains focused on policies that deliver tangible results rather than mere announcements.
