Upper East Regional Minister commends Dominic Ayine for Bolgatanga East Police Station project
The project, which includes modern police facilities and residential accommodation, is expected to strengthen security operations and bring policing services closer to residents of Bolgatanga East.
The Upper East Regional Minister, Akamugri Donatus Atanga, has commended the Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dominic Ayine, for initiating the construction of a police station to enhance security in the area.
The Minister made the remarks on Monday, April 13, 2026, when he joined the Bolgatanga East lawmaker who also serves as Ghana’s Attorney General and Minister for Justice at the sod-cutting ceremony for an ultra-modern police station and residential accommodation.
Dr. Ayine explained that he conceived the idea while in opposition, after visiting the District Police Commander and observing the poor condition of the existing police station. He disclosed that the first phase of the project is expected to be completed within four months.
The project estimated to cost about GHS 6,000,000.00 when completed will include juvenile, male, and female cells, a conference hall, a library, and offices for police personnel.
The Upper East Regional Police Commander, John Ferguson Dzineku, noted that the new facility, when completed, will significantly enhance police operations and bring services closer to the people of Bolgatanga East.
On behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, he expressed gratitude to the MP for the initiative, stating that the police service shares the same vision and appreciates his leadership.
