‘We lost heroes who greatly impacted Ghana’s growth’ – Jonathan Abdallah Salifu
Salifu said members of the party’s Communications Bureau are still struggling to come to terms with the national tragedy.
The Upper East Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jonathan Abdallah Salifu, has paid tribute to the individuals who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, describing them as heroes who made immense contributions to Ghana’s development.
Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Friday, August 8, Salifu said members of the party’s Communications Bureau are still struggling to come to terms with the national tragedy.
“A tragedy of this nature will not even make the Devil a happy person. So everyone is sad, everybody is moody, and everybody is still thinking about how it happened.” he said.
He reflected on the achievements of the deceased, noting their significant roles in national progress.
“I think you will agree with me that these people, who have served in various capacities in previous and current administrations, distinguished themselves and left indelible marks in discharging their responsibilities. They have contributed immensely to the growth of this country and helped change and impact many lives.”
Salifu emphasized that their passing leaves a huge vacuum in the political space and, more personally, in the heart of the President.
As a mark of respect for the departed, the party’s Regional Communications Bureau has suspended all communication-related activities across the region with immediate effect.
