2026 NPP presidential primaries among party’s best – NPP Communicator

Asomadawine said the peaceful nature and transparent outcome of the primaries earned the party widespread commendation.

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Jacob Asomadawine, has lauded the conduct of the party’s presidential primaries held on January 31, describing the exercise as one of the best internal contests in the party’s history.

Speaking on the Big Mike Breakfast Show on Wednesday, February 4, Asomadawine said the peaceful nature and transparent outcome of the primaries earned the party widespread commendation.

“It is clear that the primaries were free and fair, and there was nothing negative to report on the day. That is why many Ghanaians have acknowledged that the NPP conducted a successful exercise,” he stated.

According to him, the orderly process disproved predictions by some critics who had forecast violence and disorder during the primaries.

“Those who sat on the fence and described the NPP as a violent party have now turned around to praise the party,” he said. “We have learnt our lessons, and we are demonstrating to Ghanaians that we are united.”

Asomadawine congratulated Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his victory and commended the other aspirants for conceding defeat and pledging their support to the party’s flagbearer.

“I want to congratulate Dr. Bawumia for winning the contest and commend the other candidates who contested alongside him,” he added.

“They have accepted the results and pledged their support to the party. Dr. Bawumia is now our candidate going forward.”
