Navrongo: NDC leadership assures members of efforts to address recent party impasse

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Navrongo Central Constituency has assured party faithful of ongoing efforts to resolve cracks within the party stemming from the failed confirmation of the President’s nominee for Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

This is according to Aiden Adafula, NDC Constituency Secretary for Navrongo, during an interview on News Beat, Mike FM’s major news bulletin on Wednesday May 7.

Adafula acknowledged the fast deepening internal wrangling among party members in the constituency, noting that such issues do not occur well with the party as it contravenes the principles and values of the NDC.

He noted that a series of stakeholder engagements has commenced at all levels of the party structure to solve the impasse among the feuding members and build a united party front.

“As a party, we are going to ensure that these issues are addressed amicably, so that we instill unity within our rank and file to bring the progress and prosperity that the NDC government led by President Mahama has brought to the people of Navrongo.”

“We have notified the party elders and the regional executives about the current happenings to ensure that they are able to restore order within the constituency.” Adafula added.

The internal disagreements within the NDC in Navrongo follow the failed confirmation of President John Mahama’s nominee for the position of Kassena-Nankana Municipal Chief Executive, Faustina Akeyom Abulu, on April 26.

Since the growing impasse within the ranks of the NDC, many within and outside the constituency have urged the party to resolve internal disagreements threatening the unity and strength of the party ahead of future political contests.
