The Chief of Wiak Wabilinsa in the Builsa North Municipality, Nab Amos Ajudiok Ayisobsa, has appealed for urgent and accelerated development interventions in the community, citing critical challenges in electricity, healthcare, education, and water access.
Speaking on behalf of the chief during the maiden Wabilinsa Youth Feok Celebration, Marvin Ayisobsa, the chief’s spokesperson, expressed gratitude to God for divine protection and the opportunity to witness the year 2026.
He also commended the people of Buluk and the Builsa North Municipal Assembly for their continued support towards the development of the area.
He outlined several pressing challenges confronting Wabilinsa, noting that communities such as Tuusa Akpiok Yeri and parts of Nangaandem Azeda Yeri remain disconnected from the national electricity grid, a situation that continues to hinder socio-economic progress and integration.
He further lamented the absence of nearby schools and CHPS compounds, which limit residents’ access to basic education and primary healthcare services.
On education, the chief praised the Member of Parliament for Builsa North, Hon. James Agalga, and the Municipal Assembly for renovating a deteriorating three-unit classroom block. However, he appealed for the facility to be expanded into a six-unit classroom block to enable the community to run a full primary school.
The chief also lauded Thomas Kofi Alonsi for single-handedly constructing and furnishing a six-unit classroom block, which now houses the Wabilinsa Model Girls Junior High School.
Access to potable water remains a major concern for the community. Although a borehole has been planned for Sariyeri, the chief stressed that it would not be sufficient to meet the needs of Wabilinsa’s growing population. He therefore called for additional support from government agencies and benevolent organisations.
The chief concluded by commending the youth of Wabilinsa for their commitment and dedication in organising the maiden Feok celebration, describing their efforts as a strong signal of hope for the future development of the community.
